  • Maundy Thursday

Thursday, April 09, 2009 - Pastor Bill Mueller

Peace to you this Maundy Thursday! Today begins the what the ancient Christians called the "Triduum" - Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil - all trace the steps from Jesus' institution of the Lord's Supper to the agony of Good Friday to the early glimpses of Easter's resurrection. As we retrace our Savior's steps during the services on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday here are some things that will hopefully enhance your worship: Notes on Worship Services
    • Maundy Thursday - April 9 - Worship at 7:00 p.m. The service includes the first celebration of the Lord's Supper for ...

  • Holy Week Services

Friday, April 03, 2009 - Pastor Bill Mueller

If this is your Spring Break week (as I know it is for our Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran School and Northwest Allen families), I pray you are enjoying some time together as a family. Our family enjoyed a couple of days this week with a quick trip "up north" to enjoy some snow scenery in Traverse City, Michigan. The pure white snow hugging the orchards and vineyards against the deep blue sky and still deeper blue water of Lake Michigan were absolutely spectacular! God's creation is certainly beautiful. God's beauty, however, is not limited to snow-scaped scenes. In fact, that doesn't ...

  • To Be Or Not To Be..

Friday, March 27, 2009 - Pastor Bill Mueller

Forgive me for missing last week. Spring / Lent / Easter is such a wonderful time of the year. I'll admit that this reading from Paul - 1 Corinthians 1:18-31 - provides too many temptations to critique how others reject Jesus.  But, in keeping with last Sunday's Gospel Reading ...

  • Carrying a Cross

Thursday, March 05, 2009 - Pastor Bill Mueller

Did you enjoy the warm day yesterday?  Our family took a late afternoon walk to enjoy the warm temperatures and feel the quick rushing  wind  of the Hoosier March air.  The forecast calls for 70 on Saturday - could that be true?  Before you know it we'll be cranking those lawn-mowers on and cutting the first grass of the year (can't you just smell the freshly cut grass already?  I know, I know - even a snow/cold lover like me can look forward to Spring!) Worship this Sunday will bring us to two conflicting emotions - separated by, perhaps, just ...
